Old Mine Park Buffer

The Old Mine Streamside Buffer includes trees, shrubs, perennials, a stormwater retention pool and a rain garden that help to clean the water by natural filtration before runoff from the road and parking area enters the Pequonnock River. MORE >>

 

Beardsley Park Rain Garden

Stormwater runoff is one of the most serious water quality problems facing Long Island Sound. With each rainfall, water runs off roofs and pavement, causing flooding and sewage overflows and carrying pollutants to our rivers and Long Island Sound. Pequonnnock River Fish Ladder

Each year, alewives and blueback herrings migrate between fresh water and salt water in order to breed, hatch, and live. Due to the height of the dam connecting Bunnells Pond and the Pequonnock River, a “fish ladder” was constructed to aid the annual migration. MORE >>
